Another Spartan has punched his ticket to the Division I level.
Brock Rose, a product of Florida Coastal Prep’s post-graduate basketball program, has officially committed to Radford University in the Big South Conference. Rose becomes the latest in a growing pipeline of FCP alumni competing at the highest level of college basketball.
The FCP Development Path
Rose came to Florida Coastal Prep to do what the program is designed to do — bridge the gap between high school and high-major college basketball. At FCP, he trained daily at the Spartan Training Center, competed against elite post-graduate talent, and put in the work needed to catch the attention of Division I programs.
The results speak for themselves. Radford University, a Big South Conference program with a history of competitive basketball, saw enough in Rose to offer him a scholarship and a spot on the roster.
The post-graduate year at FCP gives players the time, training, and exposure they need to take their game to the next level. Brock’s commitment to Radford is proof that the process works.
Why Radford
Radford University competes in the Big South Conference alongside programs like High Point, UNC Asheville, and Charleston Southern. The Highlanders play a demanding schedule that prepares players for high-level competition, and Rose will have the opportunity to contribute immediately on a roster that values toughness and versatility.
For Rose, the fit was right — a program that values the kind of competitive edge and work ethic that define an FCP Spartan.
A Growing D1 Pipeline
Rose joins an impressive list of FCP alumni who have gone on to compete at the Division I level. Recent D1 commitments from the program include:
- Brandon Maclin — DePaul University (Big East)
- Hikaru Awata — Troy University (Sun Belt)
- Austin Cross — Troy University (Sun Belt)
- Justin Allen — Northwestern State University (Southland)
- Gavin Flowers — Southern University (SWAC)
- Gerald Gittens Jr. — Northern Michigan University (GLIAC)
That list continues to grow every year as FCP’s reputation as a legitimate development program reaches more coaches and more recruits.
What’s Next
Rose will join Radford for the upcoming season, where he will compete in one of the most competitive mid-major conferences in the country. His journey from FCP to the Big South is another chapter in the story that Florida Coastal Prep continues to write — one commitment at a time.
