Tyler Martin brings firsthand post-graduate experience to his coaching role at Florida Coastal Prep. A Memphis, Tennessee native, Martin played for Coach Lee DeForest at Combine Academy’s post-graduate program — where DeForest’s coaching and recruiting connections helped him earn a college basketball offer at the University of Montevallo.

Martin went on to play NCAA Division II basketball at the University of Montevallo and Stillman College, giving him direct experience navigating the recruiting process and transitioning from prep school to college basketball. His journey from post-grad athlete to college player under Coach DeForest’s guidance is a living example of what FCP offers its student-athletes.

As Head Skill Development Coach, Martin works one-on-one and in small groups with FCP athletes, focusing on shooting mechanics, footwork, ball handling, and the mental preparation needed to compete at the next level. His relatability and firsthand experience in Coach DeForest’s system make him a trusted mentor for current student-athletes.
