Florida Coastal Prep’s Coastal team earned a 82-80 road win at DME Gold on Saturday, surviving a two-point margin in one of the program’s most competitive results of the 2025-26 season.

Two points on the road against DME is as close as basketball gets without going to overtime. The Coastal squad — which, like FCP’s other teams, operates within a demanding SIAA schedule against well-coached opponents — delivered a composed performance in an environment that has ended far more visiting teams’ winning streaks than it has extended them. FCP built enough of a lead through three quarters to withstand a DME closing run, and the final possession came down to execution under pressure. The Spartans held, posting 82 and keeping DME Gold below their scoring average in the process. It was the kind of win that requires every player on the floor to be locked in for 32 minutes, and FCP’s Coastal team delivered exactly that.

This road win is a significant moment in the Coastal team’s season. DME is a program that attracts attention from college recruiting staffs at every level, and a win in their building sends a message about the competitive quality of FCP’s players. The squad now returns home to face a stretch of January games that will define the back half of the schedule. Track every result at @flcoastalprep on Instagram.
