Florida Coastal Prep’s Coastal team had no difficulty handling Specially Fit at home Saturday, posting an 80-46 victory in a game that demonstrated the squad’s capacity to control both tempo and margin across a full 32 minutes.
The 34-point win was built on two complementary strengths: a defense that held Specially Fit well below 50 points and an offense that moved the ball efficiently to find consistent open looks from the perimeter and in the paint. The Coastal team has shown flashes of this complete-game capability all season, and Saturday was arguably its most sustained version — a performance where the score was built gradually but inevitably rather than in one or two isolated runs. The roster’s defensive rotations improved compared to earlier in January, and the team’s rebounding margin was notably strong, limiting Specially Fit to a single possession on most trips down the floor.
All three FCP squads competed at home Saturday in what amounted to a full-program event, with recruiting staffers in attendance throughout the afternoon. The Coastal team’s 80-46 result added to a strong showing across the board for the Spartans. With the back end of the SIAA schedule now approaching, the Coastal team is positioned as one of the more competitive units in its competitive tier.
