FCP Falls Short at #7 Florida Southwestern College

Florida Coastal Prep faced a challenging road matchup at Suncoast Credit Union Arena competing against nationally-ranked Florida Southwestern College. The Buccaneers, positioned at #7 in NJCAA rankings, demonstrated their status as one of Florida’s elite teams throughout the contest.

The Bucs dominated the opening minutes with aggressive three-point shooting and scoring runs. Tyson Brown contributed six consecutive points early, helping Florida Southwestern build a commanding 12-2 advantage. The gap widened significantly midway through the first half, reaching 29-10. The hosts showcased impressive offensive efficiency at halftime, converting 70% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc.

Despite the loss, the Florida Coastal squad gained valuable experience competing against a top-tier program. The coaching staff and players view this contest as an instructive opportunity rather than a setback. They recognize areas needing improvement and remain focused on their championship aspirations.
