FCP National Dominates Specially Fit 61-32 at Home — Game Recap

Florida Coastal Prep’s National team delivered its most complete defensive performance of the season Saturday, holding Specially Fit to just 32 points in a 61-32 home victory that served as a statement result at the midpoint of the winter schedule.

Holding an opponent to 32 points at the post-grad level requires organized, sustained defense across all 32 minutes — full-court pressure, disciplined help rotations, and the kind of collective effort that only comes from a group that has put in meaningful time together on the practice floor. The National team showed all of that on Saturday afternoon. FCP’s offense was consistent without being spectacular, converting the opportunities its defense created and avoiding the kinds of extended scoring droughts that have contributed to losses earlier in the season. The 29-point final margin was one of the program’s widest wins of the year and came at a point in the schedule when momentum and confidence carry particular weight.

Saturday’s result comes at a critical moment for the National team. With January winding down and the SIAA schedule tightening, a performance like this builds the defensive identity the coaching staff has been developing since November. Three different FCP squads competed at home this same day — the Sunshine and Coastal teams also hosted Specially Fit — making it a full Spartans showcase for scouts and recruiting staffers in the building.
