After finishing as runner-ups in 2020, the Spartans were determined to claim the championship in 2021. The road to victory was not an easy one and in the championship game, FCP went into overtime to finish the game as champions. Numerous scouts and coaches attended the tournament to observe the participating teams.
First Round: FCP 108 - CAI 61
In their opening matchup against Clearwater Academy International, the Spartans demonstrated strong performance with balanced scoring distribution. They pulled away decisively in the second half after a slow beginning. The Spartans defense created enough turnovers to force transition which led to easy baskets throughout the second half.
Second Round: FCP 87 - Oakleaf 62
The Spartans faced Jacksonville’s Oakleaf Academy, which played aggressively with solid defensive intensity. The final score didn’t fully reflect the game’s competitiveness. The team’s combination of shooting accuracy and defensive rebounding proved decisive in securing the victory.
Championship Game: FCP 88 - FSA 83 OT
The championship featured an exceptionally skilled opponent in a closely contested battle. Brandon Maclin from Odessa JC delivered standout defensive performance. FCP held on with timely free throw shooting and rebounding to secure the championship victory.
