FCP Falls Short at #7 Florida Southwestern College

Florida Coastal Prep faced a tough challenge on the road at Suncoast Credit Union Arena as they took on nationally ranked Florida Southwestern College in a closely contested game. The Bucs, ranked #7 in the NJCAA at the time, are always one of the best teams in the state of Florida. Despite the loss, the team took away valuable experience from playing against one of the top teams in the nation.

The Buccaneers kicked off the game with a flurry of three-pointers, followed by six consecutive points from Tyson Brown, giving Florida Southwestern College a commanding 12-2 lead over Florida Coastal. Throughout the first half, the Bucs dominated with a series of layups, increasing their lead to 29-10 midway through the period. By halftime, Florida Southwestern had built a commanding lead, with a shooting percentage of 70% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc. In contrast, the Spartans struggled, shooting just 22% from the field.
 

The game was a test of the team’s skills and resilience, and they proved that they have what it takes to compete at a high level. The loss serves as motivation for the team to continue to work hard and improve as they strive towards their ultimate goal of becoming a championship-winning team.
