Florida Coastal Prep’s National squad dropped a close road game to Balboa School on February 7, falling 80–75 in SIAA play. The five-point margin reflects how competitive the contest was — FCP stayed in the game throughout but couldn’t secure the win on the road against a quality opponent.
Balboa School is one of the more physical programs in the SIAA, and games on their floor present challenges that are useful preparation for the level of competition post-grad players will face at the collegiate level. Close losses on the road against quality opponents are part of building a complete team.
FCP’s National schedule remains one of the more competitive in the SIAA field, which is by design — playing IMG Academy, DME, Victory Rock, and Balboa School in the same season produces the kind of resume film that college programs look for when evaluating post-graduate talent.
