Nadav Naim Commits to D1 JUCO

Another Spartan from the Class of 2022 has committed to play college basketball next season. Nadav Naim, the 6’1 guard from Israel, commits to Palm Beach State College. As with many basketball players seeking a college opportunity, he remained patient throughout the process. Nadav had finished a year with the Israeli military as is required by his country, and after his duty was finished, he wanted to join an established program to help him reach the next level.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 Rule on Eligibility, many players have decided to remain enrolled in their college to play another year and this has created a logjam at most four year schools.

This is the second player from Israel that has played for Coach DeForest and moved on to the college level. In 2019, Jovan Zelenbaba committed D1 to the Southland Conference’s Northwestern State. We anticipate a bright future for Nadav after his successful junior college experience.

FCP: What advice would you give to incoming players?

Nadav: Advice I would give is just keep working hard everyday and not give up. Post grad in FCP is not easy at all and my advice is to stay strong and don’t give up on yourself in the process; keep pushing yourself to your limit.

FCP: What was a favorite memory?

Nadav: My favorite memory from last season was the state tournament semifinals. Our opponent was Miami Prep and they were the best team in Florida. No one believed in us before the game, but we knew we could do it. We beat Miami Prep after a tough game and it was their second loss of the season.

FCP: What would you change if you had to do it again?

Nadav: I wouldn’t change a thing. I tried to get better and practice as hard as I can and have fun every second in this journey. For me it was a great season and I am very happy I had the chance to meet all the players and coaches.

FCP: Why did you pick FCP?

Nadav: I picked FCP because I have a few friends who know Coach DeForest and I have heard only good things about him and for me it was the most important thing; I was looking for a place with good people that care about me and I am glad I made the right choice.

We look forward to following his career. Good luck Nadav!
