How did FCP Coastal start the 2025-26 season against IMG Academy? Florida Coastal Prep’s high school Coastal team opened the season Friday with a home victory over IMG Academy, posting a result that gives the program an early positive footing as the SIAA schedule gets underway.
Final score figures were not officially recorded for this contest, but the result was never in question on the FCP side of the scorebook. The Coastal squad, drawing on the coaching staff’s preparation and a motivated group of players eager to establish themselves in the fall window, controlled enough of the game’s key possessions to close it out at home. IMG Academy is among the most well-resourced prep programs in the country, which makes any win against them a meaningful data point for a young team still building identity. The Spartans’ defensive discipline in the second half proved to be the difference, limiting IMG’s transition opportunities and protecting the lead when it mattered most.
For the Coastal team, this result sets a strong early benchmark. Track games on the high school schedule and the team roster. For context on IMG as an opponent, see our IMG vs DME vs Montverde comparison and FCP vs IMG prep school comparison. Follow the Spartans on Instagram at @flcoastalprep.
