ASUN Conference Member Schools
About the ASUN Conference
The ASUN Conference is a 12-team NCAA Division I league with a strong Southeastern footprint — member schools include Florida Gulf Coast (FGCU), Lipscomb, Bellarmine, Liberty, Jacksonville, North Alabama, Central Arkansas, Kennesaw State, Queens University, Stetson, Northern Kentucky, and Austin Peay. FGCU's Dunk City NCAA Tournament run put the ASUN on the national map, and the conference has produced several notable NBA-level players. ESPN+ and ESPN platforms broadcast ASUN games. The conference champion earns an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
What ASUN Coaches Look for in Recruits
ASUN programs prioritize high-character, high-effort athletes who are ready to contribute immediately. These staffs recruit heavily from the prep school and JUCO ranks because they need players who are physically and mentally ready — not projects. Guards who can shoot and defend, forwards who rebound, and bigs who set screens and protect the rim are always in demand. Coaches look for clean academic records and cleared NCAA eligibility. ASUN assistants actively use recruiting databases, film exchange platforms, and travel to Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas to evaluate prospects.
Scholarship Structure and Roster Sizes
ASUN programs carry the full D1 allotment of 13 scholarships. Most programs roster 14–16 players total. ASUN scholarship packages typically include full tuition, room, board, and books. Several ASUN schools — particularly Stetson and Lipscomb — offer academically strong environments with small class sizes. Transfer portal and post-grad additions are routine at the ASUN level.
How FCP Prepares Players for the ASUN
FCP sits in the ASUN's backyard — Florida Gulf Coast is 4 hours south, Jacksonville is 5 hours east, and Stetson is within recruiting range. ASUN coaches have evaluated FCP players at showcases. The FCP post-grad program gives borderline D1 prospects a structured year to sharpen their game, clear eligibility, and build a production-based film package. Rico Overall, FCP's Director of Recruiting, has direct experience with ASUN-caliber programs from his time at Stetson. Apply to FCP and target an ASUN offer in one year.
