About Tabor College Basketball

Tabor College basketball offers genuine playing time and development opportunity in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Association at the NAIA level. Head coach Matt Warren builds a program centered on player growth rather than empty promises. This is the right fit if you're a solid high school player looking for real minutes, consistent coaching, and a path to compete meaningfully—not a program that oversells its ceiling. The Jayhawks play competitive basketball in a conference that attracts serious student-athletes. You'll develop skills in a structured environment, benefit from consistent coaching, and get the academic support that matters for your degree. Hillsboro provides a tight-knit campus setting where you're known by coaches and staff, not a number. What Tabor won't do: pretend you're headed to the NBA or inflate your abilities to fill roster spots. What it will do: give you honest feedback, real competition in practice and games, and a clear role in the program's approach. Warren and his staff focus on character, work ethic, and basketball IQ—the fundamentals that translate to success whether you play four years or move on after one or two. If you're realistic about your level, value direct communication, and want a coach who'll develop you without hype, Tabor deserves serious consideration. Every serious recruiting conversation starts with preparation. Florida Coastal Prep—located in Fort Walton Beach, FL—trains post-grad and high school players to compete at the college level and attract the right attention. What Recruits Should Know About NAIA Basketball

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference operates within the NAIA, where scholarship opportunities exist but recruiting timelines and standards differ from NCAA programs. NAIA coaches recruit primarily through direct outreach, exposure events, and coach-to-coach referrals. Academic requirements are governed by the NAIA Eligibility Center — a separate process from the NCAA.

Tabor College and its Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference peers offer full and partial scholarships to players who fit their system. Smaller rosters mean more playing time for the right player, and NAIA programs regularly produce players who transfer up to D2 and D1. Getting evaluated starts with sending updated film and a clear academic transcript directly to the coaching staff.

Exposure Events That Get You in Front of NAIA Coaches

NAIA coaches including those at Tabor College build their recruiting lists at specific tournaments and showcase events — not by watching YouTube links from players they've never heard of. FCP's schedule is built around the exposure events these coaches actually attend, giving our players the chance to compete in front of decision-makers at the right moment in the recruiting cycle.

FCP players get evaluated at national showcases, coach-attended tournaments, and live events that create direct visibility for programs like Tabor College. Learn more about our post-grad program or apply now.

Whether you're a current high school player exploring options through our high school program or a graduate looking for a post-grad year, FCP provides the coaching, competition, and college placement support to help you reach programs like Tabor College.
