About Taylor University Basketball

Taylor demands players who show up ready to compete. Coach Josh Andrews builds his Crossroads League roster around guys who've put in the work before they arrive in Upland. Half-measures don't cut it here. This program moves fast. Andrews develops ball handlers and three-point shooters—the modern game requires both. He values coachability over ego. Players who embrace film study and defensive principles climb the rotation. Those who don't sit. The Crossroads League is competitive. Every night matters. Taylor competes against programs that recruit hungry, prepared athletes. You'll face quality opposition. That pressure either hardens you or breaks you. What separates Taylor commits from the rest? They understand the gap between high school and college basketball isn't small. They know arriving soft means watching from the bench. Andrews doesn't develop players—he accelerates players who've already started the work. Upland gives you a tight-knit campus where your game becomes your identity. No distractions. Just basketball, academics, and the daily grind of becoming what you promised. The question isn't whether Taylor is right for you. It's whether you're ready to be what Taylor requires. Players who arrive at college campus-ready—technically polished and physically prepared—get noticed faster. Florida Coastal Prep's post-graduate program in Fort Walton Beach, FL is built to close that gap. Learn more at floridacoastalprep.com or visit /apply/ to start the conversation.

What Recruits Should Know About NAIA Basketball

The Crossroads League operates within the NAIA, where scholarship opportunities exist but recruiting timelines and standards differ from NCAA programs. NAIA coaches recruit primarily through direct outreach, exposure events, and coach-to-coach referrals. Academic requirements are governed by the NAIA Eligibility Center — a separate process from the NCAA.

Taylor University and its Crossroads League peers offer full and partial scholarships to players who fit their system. Smaller rosters mean more playing time for the right player, and NAIA programs regularly produce players who transfer up to D2 and D1. Getting evaluated starts with sending updated film and a clear academic transcript directly to the coaching staff.

Strength and Conditioning for the NAIA Level

Body development is one of the most overlooked factors in college recruiting. NAIA coaches won't offer a player whose physical profile can't hold up to a 30-game college season. FCP's post-graduate program includes a dedicated strength and conditioning track that prepares players for the physical demands of college basketball — and shows up on film in ways that matter to coaches at programs like Taylor University.

Our Spartan Training Center gives players access to professional-grade facilities and programming designed specifically for basketball performance at the college level. Apply to FCP and start building the physical foundation Taylor University's coaches want to see.

Whether you're a current high school player exploring options through our high school program or a graduate looking for a post-grad year, FCP provides the coaching, competition, and college placement support to help you reach programs like Taylor University.
