Follow the ball after the roll catch. Arizona plays out of the corner, kicks the ball back out and finds the original inbounder for a corner three against Dayton.

Watch Arizona work back to the inbounder. Four and five set the stagger. Three curls around both screens. Two uses the stagger to reach the corner. One makes the inbound pass. Five sets the ball screen as one spaces opposite. Two drives off the screen and five rolls. Two passes inside to five. Two comes back out. Five kicks it back to two. Two swings to three. Three finds one in the corner. One gets the corner three. Watch it again.

Starting setup

1 inbounds from the baseline. 4 and 5 form the stagger on that side. 3 starts high, and 2 starts across the lane.

Animation numbers are teaching roles. 1 jersey 2, Love. 2 jersey 4, Boswell. 3 jersey 3, Larsson. 4 jersey 16, Johnson. 5 jersey 11, Ballo.

Teach the action

  1. 3 curls around the stagger toward the opposite low block. 2 then uses the stagger to reach the inbound-side corner and receives from 1.
  2. 5 goes to the corner ball screen. 1 enters and spaces to the opposite corner while 3 lifts and 4 fills the low area.
  3. 2 uses the screen and passes to the rolling 5. 5 catches and lands, then kicks back to 2.
  4. 2 swings to 3. 3 makes the extra pass to 1 in the opposite corner. The film shows 1 making the three.

Coaching cue

Keep the inbounder moving into the opposite corner after the first pass. Walk through the kick-out and both perimeter passes.
