Curl pass to 2
Read the narration
Illinois' stack curl under-out. One and five form the screening line. Two curls around one into the lane. Three feeds two near the rim.
Starting setup
3 inbounds from the baseline. 1 starts in the middle above 5 and 2, with 4 spaced wide in the corner. 1 and 5 are the screeners for the opening action.
Teach the action
- 1 and 5 set their screens together.
- 2 curls around 1 and cuts into the lane.
- 3 feeds 2 near the rim. This animation finishes with that catch.
- The option for 1 to use 5 belongs to a separate read. Teach it after players understand the curl.
Coaching cue
Ask 2 to come tight off 1. A wide curl gives the defender more room to recover before the catch.
