Lee DeForest

Twenty-five years of coaching. Four different levels of college basketball — DI, DII, NAIA, and JUCO. That range is the whole point: there is no corner of the college game Lee DeForest hasn’t worked inside, and few programs where he doesn’t know someone to call on a player’s behalf.

As Athletic Director and Director of Operations at Florida Coastal Prep, Lee oversees every part of a player’s year — recruiting, daily development, academics, and the college placement that the whole year builds toward. Under his leadership, FCP has become one of the premier post-graduate basketball programs in the Southeast, placing athletes at four-year institutions season after season.

The names tell the story better than the titles do. Sean East, now in the NBA G League. Brandon Maclin, hitting game-winners in the Big East at DePaul. Kylin Green, a starting Division I point guard at Houston Christian. Ring Malith, an NCAA Tournament player at SIU Edwardsville. Each one came through a program Lee built. That’s the standard he coaches to: develop the complete student-athlete, not just the basketball player.
