Tyler Martin

Tyler Martin has sat in the exact seat FCP players sit in now. A Memphis, Tennessee native, he was a post-grad athlete himself — playing for Coach Lee DeForest at Combine Academy, where DeForest’s coaching and recruiting connections helped him earn a college basketball offer from the University of Montevallo.

He took that offer and built a college career from it, playing NCAA Division II basketball at Montevallo and Stillman College. The recruiting process, the prep-to-college transition, the work of earning minutes in Coach DeForest’s system — Martin didn’t study any of it. He lived it.

As Head Skill Development Coach, Martin works one-on-one and in small groups with FCP athletes on shooting mechanics, footwork, ball handling, and the mental preparation the next level demands. For a player wondering whether the post-grad path actually works, Martin is a living example standing right in front of them.
